My name is Geoffrey Geddes. I’m a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (IMF #98346).
My Training. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Saybrook University. While at Saybrook, I also enjoyed over two years of professional training, first at Harmony Place, a residential drug treatment facility, and then at The Bella Vita, a wonderful company that provides inpatient and outpatient treatment for eating disorders and related conditions, including anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, and self-harm.
My Credentials. I’m currently registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (IMF #98346). I’m a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the American Counseling Association (ACA), as well as the Association for Humanistic Counseling (AHC), the Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW), and the Association for Adult Development (AADA).
My Treatment Philosophy. I approach therapy from a humanistic, client-centered perspective. I can lend an empathic ear, offer you informed observations and suggestions, and walk beside you for part of your journey to recovery. Your healing will not come from me; it will come from deep inside you. It may take some time before you even believe you can heal, let alone acquire the skills to do so. Be patient. Be kind to yourself. Each of us has extraordinary mental and emotional resources. Some of us just need a little help uncovering our excellent selves.
